”The thing about walking is, at some point, you get to where you’re going.” - John Francis, The Planetwalker
They say to always follow your heart.
But I always follow my feet.
Because where I am, is where I want to be.
China, Hong Kong, Manila
Destination: Kish Island, Iran

8:15 pm…that’s the time that i will be saying goodbye to U.A.E and say hello to Iran. Exit. Every Filipino in U.A.E gets to experience this at one point when their visa expires or got canceled. It’s either Kish or Oman. Not everyone likes the idea of going to Kish, and we can blame this on the rumors about bad things that happens when you go there. It’s not my first time to go there and to tell you the truth, some of it is true. But I won’t write about that topic yet since i’m on my way there. When traveling it’s always good to stay positive and look forward to the good things ahead like places to see and people to meet.

Three remarkable people…One long walk…maybe in the future i can make this walk.
“Walking” by Ryan Larkin
I saw this animation way back when i was in college. This short animation was done by a Canadian artist Ryan Larkin in the 60’s.
This animation was as raw as it can be. Everything was hand drawn by the artist and it takes a lot of time. It took thousands of drawings to make this animation possible. Making one drawing at a time. This animation is like walking, it’s powered by raw energy and it takes patience. One step at a time.

One thing that makes walking in the urban jungle bearable.
missing the bus stops

“the only thing good about missing the bus stop is the long walk back.” - Me
I am what you may call a person with a bad sense of direction. I often get lost when going to other places. Looking back, I have been lost for so many times in so many places and in so many ways that it became a normal thing for me. And I’m glad that our ancestors took the courage to stand up and take the first step and invented “walk”. They revolutionized how we bipeds travel. Walking has been the solution to my never ending i-don’t-know-where-the-hell-am-i problem. Walking makes it easier for me to be familiar with the place and not get lost.
It’s easy to get lost in a big city, especially for me. Whenever i ride the bus I always miss my stop, it’s either i was too busy looking outside the window that i did not notice the stops or i just simply do not know where to go down. Missing a bus stop in U.A.E means walking a great distance to get back to where you’re suppose to go and in the burning heat of the Arabian sun, walking is only for those who can endure. During those long walks, I get the chance to look at the places the second time around and sometimes i get to see people and things that i did not notice when riding the bus. I think that the only good thing about missing the bus stop is the long walk back.
This blog will be just like missing the bus stop and walking back. I’m simply looking back at things on a different view and on a different speed.
